Dom Perignon, which was known as Andy Warhol’s drink of choice while he partied at Studio 54, has commissioned bottles with Warhol-inspired designs. Releases: KAWS – “Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket” Figures

When we first confirmed the imminent release of KAWS’ Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket figures back in June, we didn’t have any details yet as to the price or date of release. If you remember, these were first seen at the fantastic retrospective the Dos Sequis drinking artist put on at the Aldrich Contemporary in Connecticut. Teaser: Kaws – “Wood Companion”

We’ve heard rumors of a wooden Companion figure from KAWS for a while now but haven’t seen any images… until now – from the recent Dos Sequis video! In these studio shots, the figure appears to be approximately 10 inches tall, but no word yet on general release details. You may remember when we first passed along the news that KAWS was collaborating with Dos Equis in creating a specially packaged version of their popular beer. Now, the Mexican company, whose name translates to “two x’s” has released a promotional video of the “creative process” from the street turned contemporary artist whose signature imagery also includes “two x’s”. Preview: Daniel Danger – “they will take it back” @ Gallery 1988 (LA)

Daniel Danger (interviewed), who we saw last show at the SF location of Gallery 1988 in April of last year, returns this week to the original Los Angeles location for his new exhibition – “they will take it back”. The New England artist best known for his prints, which sell out almost instantaneously on release, will be putting together a body of work including originals, limited editions, and his first full-scale art toy. SDCC ’10: Exhibitors and Displays

To say that the San Diego Comic Con is a sensory overload would be an understatement. The top industry names go all out with their displays and booths promoting the latest films, comic books, and toys. Takashi Murakami x Casio G-Shock Frogman

Superflat master Takashi Murakami has created an eye-popping G-Shock “Frogman” watch with Casio. The cool collaboration features his trademark “Flower” emblem etched on the black metal casing and the strap features his signature on the front. The watch comes in a specially packaged and designed watch pillow also featuring his artwork. This collaboration will be limited to 300 and will be released on September 11th later this year. SDCC ’10: Sculptures, Toys, and Figures

As we previewed prior to Comic Con, the weekend event featured the unveiling of some fantastic sculptures and figures by artists we all know and love, including those by Jeff Soto, Travis Louie, David Choe, Shepard Fairey, Yoskay Yamamoto, and Luke Chueh. Releases: Daniel Danger – “Where Ashes Take the Form of Houses” Print

It’s taken six months, but Daniel Danger’s (interviewed) new two color intaglio print is ready from Harbor Coat Press. The beautiful image, entitled “Where Ashes Take the Form of Houses”, is an edition of 50 and generously sized at 28″ x 48″. It’s available now at their shop for $300. Hopefully this will keep Daniel’s fans happy until his show next month at Gallery 1988 LA. More detailed pics after the jump…
