Releases/Charity: Ana Bagayan – “Silence” Print & Lunch Bunch

Artist Ana Bagayan recently released two new giclee prints.  The first one is a special charity fundraiser print entitled ”Prey” (above), with 100% of the profits going towards funding Ana’s Lunch Bunch project (Each copy of ”Prey” is just $25, and the funds raised from each sale will feed 12 people). Ana recently started off making and distributing home-made lunch packs for the homeless of Los Angeles. Releases: KAWS Gray 4FT Dissected Companion

AM has just received information on the release of KAWS‘ Gray 4FT Dissected Companion, the second in his series of towering, anatomically exposed vinyl creations. Not for the faint of heart or the spatially deprived, these monsters will be set loose at the end of the month to those lucky few OriginalFake account holders. Teaser: Sylvia Ji – “Nectar” @ StolenSpace & Box Set

Looks like Sylvia Ji (interviewed) is in the midst of preparing for her first solo show in the UK entitled “Nectar” set to open on September 3rd at StolenSpace.  She posted up a shot of her studio with some in progress works recently on her blog, where she also revealed a print set project she’s been working on. Travis Louie Book Signing @ Gallery 1988 LA

AM stopped by Gallery 1988 in LA a couple days ago to attend the Travis Louie’s (interviewed) book signing. His book “Curiosities,” released by Baby Tattoo Books & Galley 1988, chronicles his paintings from the last several years and of course, the stories that go along with it. Releases: Scratching The Surface Book

AM has just received news of a special event taking place at Lazarides’ Greek Street Shop on Friday, July 31st. To mark the closure of “Scratching The Surface”, Vhils’ successful solo exhibition at Lazarides Rathbone place (covered here and here), a special limited edition book of the same name will be released, as well as three Laz-exclusive hand-finished prints. Teaser: Camille Rose Garcia – “The Hydra of Babylon” @ Merry Karnowsky Gallery

Camille Rose Garcia’s show “The Hydra of Babylon” is fast approaching! Prototype: Jeff Soto’s “Seeker” Figure

Continuing our look at some prototypes for art toys during SDCC week, we now turn our attention to the “Seeker” figure from Jeff Soto (interviewed).  The figure appears to be based on some paintings from his recent Riverside Art Museum show and will be produced by Bigshot Toyworks, the same company producing Travis Louie’s “Uncle Six-Eyes.” Take a look at a video with Soto explaining the figure here, as well as look at some more pics of the protoype and source paintings after the jump.

Releases: Dave Kinsey Ceramic Plate

Looks like Studiocromie is getting ready to release this beautiful screen-printed ceramic plate by Dave Kinsey. These will be a limited edition and will cost about 220 euros. This should not come as a surprise as the FAME Festival this year, also put on by Studiocromie, is encouraging artists to work with ceramics as well.  Take a look at the signature on the back of the plate as well as a picture of the ceramic workshop after the jump…
