Streets: Sam3 (Barcelona)

Spanish artist Sam3 recently visited Barcelona where he created a new beautiful mural titled Park. Rendered with his familiar technique of using only black color and painting silhouettes, this public piece feels both very light and strong, fitting perfectly to the environment it is placed in. Studio Visit: Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada

Earlier this year, we had the chance to visit Cuban-American artist Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada in his studio in Barcelona. Known for his large scale charcoal photorealistic portraits on buildings since the 90s,  Jorge will be presenting a new solo show in Paris at Mathgoth Gallery on October 11th called TEXTURE URBAINE. Openings: JAZ @ RAS Barcelona

Following his recent participation to the Open Walls Baltimore (covered here) Franco Fasoli aka Jaz recently opened his first European solo show at RAS Gallery in Barcelona, curated by Maximiliano Ruiz and produced by Suben. Openings: Isaac Cordal @ RAS Gallery

Last Friday, RAS Gallery in Barcelona hosted the opening of Isaac Cordal’s latest collection of works which were presented by SUBEN and curated by Maximiliano Ruiz. Cordal’s outdoor sculptural interventions, which often times are political in nature, made the transition to the gallery setting with pieces arrayed on a series of shelves and with floor installations. Last weekend, Spanish street muralist Aryz opened his first solo show in his home country at the Montana Gallery. Preview: Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada @ Galería Ignacio de Lassaletta

Cuban American artist Jorge Rodriguez-Guerada, known for his large scale charcoal photorealistic portraits on buildings since the 90s, will be presenting a new solo show (catalogue) at Galería Ignacio de Lassaletta, Barcelona on November 24th. The body of work will consist of a new collection of “Urban Analogies” made of charcoal drawings on 250 years old walls surfaces and “Memorylithics” sculptures using antique architectural elements. Preview: SIXEART – “Cosmovisión Andina y los Hijos del Inti” @ Galería N2

Opening this Thursday 17 November, Sixeart is back to the N2 Galería, in Barcelona, Spain, where some of the discerning public found out about his work a year before the Tate Modern discovered him. The new solo show entitled Cosmovisión Andina y los Hijos del Inti is an approximation to the ancient cultures of the Andes, full of colour, wisdom and misticism.
