One of the booths we really enjoyed at this year’s Pulse fair was that of Christina Ray, who presented a solo exhibition by artist Beka Goedde. Goedde’s work is very much based in printmaking, using such techniques as etching and Chine-collé (the application of thin colored paper as color) to create unique mixed media pieces that sometimes resemble simple collage and other times look more like complex abstract paintings. Well, shortly after announcing their lineup for 2010, this year’s FAME Festival is already underway. First to arrive were Swoon (interviewed) and Ben Wolf to participate in this annual Italian celebration of street art (take a look at our coverage of the 2009 event here). Unfortunately, Wolf’s work was destroyed before it was photographed but here are some photos of Swoon pasting up an old chapel as well as other parts of town. More images after the jump.
Fresh off their stint from Norway at this year Nuart Festival (covered), Swoon (Interviewed) and Ben Wolf stopped off in Berlin for a show at Urban Art Info Gallery. The show “Squinches and Pendentives” was held in UAI’s large gallery space which allowed the artists to really showcase their styles. The space allowed Ben to build his impressive and self reflective installations/sculptures.
