Studio Visits: Carl Krull – Protagonist @ Formation Gallery

Today in Copenhagen, a new exhibition from Carl Krull (featured) will mark the grand opening of Formation Gallery, a new space in the heart of Vesterbro. Known for his Seismic series of black & white works, the Danish artist is venturing into new territory with color and a more sculptural aesthetic. “There was a time when my studio consisted of a pair of virtual reality glasses. Preview: Carl Krull – “Sediment” @ Format Artspace

On Friday, the 20th of January, Format Artspace in Copenhagen will be opening a new exhibition by Carl Krull. His recognizable line work creates portraits and other imagery in an almost sculptural manner, with finished pieces reminiscent of topographic maps or tree rings. In his newest […]

Openings: Carl Krull – “Seismic” @ V1 Gallery

After a studio visit with Carl Krull, it was gratifying to see his new works displayed on the walls of V1 Gallery last week. Head over for a look if you are in around Copenhagen through October 25. Photo credit: Henrik Haven. Discuss Carl Krull here.

Seismic is an appropriate title for Krull’s new work as he uses a very distinctive technique to produce his images […]

Openings: “Tonight We Won’t Be Bored” – 10 Years Of V1 Gallery

With all the great art that is scattered all over the world, it’s not often that you can see works from prominent artists in your home town – and even less likely you see them side by side. That is exactly the scenario we have in Copenhagen at the V1 Gallery as they celebrate their 10 year anniversary with a massive group show entitled Tonight We Won’t Be Bored. Take for example the wall above that has pieces from Todd James, Futura, DearRainDrop, and Kenny Scharf that […]
