Another booth to pay attention to during Basel Week Miami is a group showing from Spoke Art at SCOPE. They plan to bring works like Scott Scheidly’s pink portraits, Joan Cornellà’s black humor infused pieces, Casey Weldon’s vibrant paintings, Abigail Goldman’s morbid sculptures, and Eelus’ dark portraits, along with other contributions. Continuing their series of curatorial group shows, Thinkspace will be bringing their roster of artists to Chicago on September 3rd at Vertical Gallery. Like previous iterations, the show is titled after the airports of Los Angeles, where the gallery is based and the location where they are visiting – LAX / ORD. On July 23rd, beinArt Gallery in Brunswick will be opening a new four person show entitled Luminosity & Dust. The nice mix of surreal imagery that will be on display includes Casey Weldon’s hyper chromatic & cinematic paintings (seen above), Gerard Greer’s bone assemblages, Peter Gric’s humanoid-mechanical hybrids, and Rodrigo Luff’s lush psychedelic nudes. Coming up on April 9th at ArtHatch in Escondido, California, Casey Weldon (featured) will opening a new solo show entitled Stray Voltage. Presented along with Distinction Gallery, the exhibition will feature 20 of his surreal paintings that make use of glowing highlights and a bright hyper chromatic palette. On October 1st, Roq La Rue opened it’s doors to a cavalcade of new works. Casey Weldon (featured) was welcomed back to the gallery for Hastemaker, where he continues to explore putting real people in surreal situations.
