On a weekend packed full of great shows, the Carmichael Gallery opening reception was one of AM’s first stops. Fresh off moderating the successful Bonham’s Contemporary Street panel, up next for Carmichael was the “Pour Me Some Smoke” group show which offered a wide variety of contemporary flavors. Last night, AM had the opportunity to attend a very special event held by Bonhams LA. A unique panel of speakers from different corners of the Urban art genre gathered to discuss the state of the Urban art market and the economics/dynamics of today’s art marketplace. This was a lively discussion moderated by Seth Carmichael of the Carmichael Gallery. Next Thursday, Carmichael Gallery will open up a great group show featuring the works of Case, Charming Baker, Ian Strawn, Guy Denning, and TRXTR. The opening reception is Nov 6th from 8pm to Midnight. As previously reported: Charming will also be participating in the Bonhams Contemporary: Urban art discussion panel hosted by Seth Carmichael which includes AM friend Shepard Fairey! Collecting Contemporary: Urban Art Panel @ Bonhams

On Wednesday Nov. 5th, Bonhams (Los Angeles) will be holding a very special panel to discuss the Contemporary Urban art market. This panel will include Shepard Fairey (artist), Charming Baker (artist), Jon Reis (Filmmaker), Shana Nys Dambrot (Art Critic/Editor), and Cindy Cronk (Modern Art auction house specialist). The panel will moderated by none other than Seth Carmichael of the Carmichael Gallery.
