Chet Zar – “Ego Death” Kickstarter

It sounds like  Chet Zar (interviewed) has big plans for his next show which will be entitled Ego Death. By setting up a kickstarter, the Los Angeles-based painter of monsters hopes to put on an exhibition like an elaborate funeral. Showing: Chet Zar & Doktor A – “Oddfellows” @ Stranger Factory

Currently showing at the Stranger Factory in Albuquerque is a dual exhibition from Chet Zar (interviewed) and Doktor A entitled Oddfellows. Aptly named for the strange artistic vision, the joint show from the two features Zar’s grotesque and monstrous portraits painted in a nightmarish fashion that only he can do as well as the Dok’s steampunk mechanical creations put together by his deft hand. Next Saturday night (January 19th), the third and final chapter of the Conjoined series of group exhibitions (see 2011 & 2012) will open its doors at the Copro Gallery in Santa Monica. This past weekend, New York’s Cotton Candy Machine hosted their second annual “tiny” art showcase entitled Tiny Trifecta. Releases: Chet Zar – “The Dead Pope” Bronze

Although there have been resin versions released previously, this newest iteration of Chet Zar (interviewed) limited edition sculpture, The Dead Pope, is in bronze.
