Basel Week Miami ’16: Pulse Art Fair

This year’s edition of the Pulse Art Fair at Indian Beach Park once again proved the reputation of the fair as one of the worthy satellite fairs of Basel Week Miami. Including over 70 galleries and their 200 artists, the fair featured new works from galleries all the way from Colombia, Spain, China to Japan. On October 14th, Gallery Poulsen in Copenhagen will be opening Enantiodromia, a new solo from Christian Rex van Minnen (featured). Earlier this month, the Juxtapoz x Superflat group show opened at Pivot Art, giving art enthusiasts in Seattle a chance to see work from a stellar roster of artists. Another artist whose work we’ve been following for some time, Christian Rex van Minnen (featured), will be introducing his newest work during Basel Week Miami. Showing with Gallery Poulsen from Copenhagen, the NY-based artist prepared two large pieces for this event along with other artists represented by the gallery including Aaron Johnson, Mi Ju, Mu Pan, William Powhida, Jean-Pierre Roy, and Nicola Verlato. Openings: Christian Rex van Minnen – “Golden Memes” @ Robischon Gallery

AM recently joined the masses at Robischon Gallery for the January 15th opening of Christian Rex van Minnen’s Golden Memes. The show is a homecoming for the New York-based artist, who brought his grotesque re-imagining of the Dutch Golden Age to Denver. The exhibition includes ten pieces of new work, most large in scale, making the bizarre imagery even more powerful.
