Showing: Cleon Peterson – “End of Days” @ New Image Art

Returning to the site of his 2010 Los Angeles solo (covered), Cleon Peterson brought his hard-hitting imagery for his currently showing exhibition at New Image Art entitled End of Days. The collection of paintings feature a limited palette of black & white or black & red, making the brutal details all the more evident when rendered in a uniform color scheme. Streets: Cleon Peterson (Los Angeles)

Last weekend, Cleon Peterson took on a large scale mural in downtown Los Angeles. Coming off a great summer exhibition across the pond at London’s The Outsiders’ Soho gallery, Cleon kept his acerbic and raw edge as he composed a hard hitting piece featuring his signature “Brinksmen.” Created over the span of two days, the wall was painted with a bloody looking color scheme making it a fresh eye-catcher for the people of LA. Check out a detailed look below… Photos credit: @zagnutz Discuss Cleon Peterson here.

Previews: Cleon Peterson – ‘There is a War’ @ The Outsiders

Cleon Peterson‘s first UK solo exhibition is on the horizon, so get ready for some carnage Londoners! Peterson’s stories are told in a typically monochrome language, and show a world where violence reigns, interspersed with quirky black humour. His stylized bogeymen are metaphor of course for oppressors of all kinds rather than a straight up glorification of violent people carrying out violent acts. There is a War opens at The Outsiders Soho gallery space with a private view on Thursday July 4th and runs until August 3rd […]

To recap, all of the participating artists were given an identical 10×10 inch cradled timber panel by exhibition sponsor Ampersand as the medium to work on.
