Invader Continues Space Invasion

After taking his own work up to space and living up to his moniker, Invader has recently expanded his activities to spread his work further along similar lines. Not only has the French street artist put up his signature tiled mosaics up at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne and Euro Space Center in Belgium (above), but it also looks like one of his pieces has made it up with an astronaut to the International Space Station. Die Kunstagentin in Cologne, Germany will be opening a solo by Dave Kinsey on the 5th of February. On the 10th of October, Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne, Germany opened a new solo show by American artist, Andrew Schoultz. Titled Broken Order, this show includes all new works which introduce a slight new direction for the artist. Aside from his familiar illustrative elements and signature imagery, the new paintings include geo and op art objects, which was further emphasized through a specific install painted in the gallery space. On the 4th of September, Die Kunstagentin gallery introduced Maya Hayuk’s latest body of work titled Alles Klar, as well as a large mural at their entrance. The new works further explore her signature technique of woven brush strokes. With her straight, strict lines of thick paint,  the NYC-based artist creates trippy colorful patterns which seem to be getting more elaborate. From the 15th till 19th of August, gallery Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne will be showing the new works from this year’s MyFinBec project. The annual series organized by the winery Cave Fin Bec in Switzerland commissions artists to create wine labels for their special limited edition organic wine. This year’s lineup included VHILS from Portugal, Herakut from Germany, C215 from France, and Etam Cru from Poland. In every instance, eight different labels were painted on stacks of 84 crates each.
