Showing: “Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty” @ JANM

Showing through April of next year at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) is an exhibition celebrating the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty. Streets: D*Face / Branded Arts (Los Angeles)

Before leaving Los Angeles, UK native D*Face (interviewed) decided to create one more mural for his fans to add to the piece (covered) on the side of the building that that housed his popup show (covered). Mirroring one of the originals that was featured in his exhibition, the new image shows one of his characters looking into the rear-view mirror as he’s driving down a lonely stretch of road. Openings: D*Face – “Scars & Stripes” (Los Angeles)

Over the weekend, AM headed out to Los Angeles to check out a solo from D*Face (interviewed) at a popup location in West Hollywood (315 S. Robertson Blvd). Greeted by an installation featuring a giant D*Dog sculpture crushing a police cruiser with full on smoke, fans were hyped up to enter the gallery space to take in a new body work from the British street artist. Streets: D*Face (Los Angeles)

With D*Face’s (interviewed) show opening soon (next weekend) in Los Angeles, the British artist was busy completing a new mural at the same location as where the popup exhibition will be held (315 Robertson Blvd). Upcoming: D*Face – “Scars & Stripes” (Los Angeles)

After hitting up Los Angeles in 2011 and earlier this year, British artist D*Face (interviewed) will be bringing his imagery back to Hollywood later this month. Scars & Stripes will open on September 27th at a popup location (315 S.
