Openings: “Never Judge” @ StolenSpace Gallery

Never Judge, a group show where a diverse group of artists were invited to reinterpret their favorite book covers, opened recently at the StolenSpace Gallery in London. Classics like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, 1984, War of the Worlds, and Beauty and the Beast had their covers redone by artists like Art Under Pressure, Shepard Fairey, Eelus, and Will Barras. It looks like Eelus has arrived in New York and is already started work on Brooklynite’s walls. The UK street artist will be showing jointly with C215 in “Paradise Lost” (teased), both of which are known for their stencil work. This peek at a piece looks like a pretty large scale version of a piece he’s put up in the streets before. Our friends at Brooklynite Gallery are having an auction to raise money for the Haitian Orphanage – Chances For Children. They put together some nice pieces from artists such as Guy Denning, Miss Bugs, Beejoir, C215, Eelus and K-Guy. You can check out the pieces and bid here. With 100% of the proceeds going directly to the orphanage, it’s a definite win-win for all who participate in this very charitable event. More images after the jump.

Teaser: Eelus – “The Colour Out Of Space” @ Blackall Studios

Street artist Eelus is preparing for his upcoming debut London solo show at the Blackall Studios location. Entitled “The Colour Out Of Space,” the exhibition will feature new paintings and prints on canvas, wood and metal like the image above. AM just got back from the opening of Green Day’s “The Art of Rock” show at London’s StolenSpace gallery (previewed), the night before the band starts a run of sold out dates on the UK leg of theÂ 21st Century Breakdown Tour. Logan Hicks (interviewed) curated the group show, which consisted ofÂ 18 pieces of art inspired by the lyrics of the new album. The participating artists were M-City (Mariusz Waras), Meggs, Peat Wollaeger, Pisa73, Ron English (featured), Sadhu, Sixten, The London Police, Will Barras, Adam (5100) [...]

Our good friends at StolenSpace just sent us a little look into their coming show with renowned punk band Green Day. The show curated by Logan Hicks (featured) features a strong lineup of urban artists such as Ron English (featured),Â London Police, C215, Will Barras, Eelus, Chris Stain (interviewed), Sixten, Adam 5100 each doing a piece inspired by Green Day’s music. The show opens the day before Green Day starts it’s sold out tour of the UK on Oct 23rd and will run only until Nov [...]
