Streets: Ericailcane (Belgium)

Earlier this month, Ericailcane painted a set of three murals in Ghent, Belgium utilizing his distinctive illustrative style to coincide with the second edition of EI. The renowned Italian street artist painted the pieces on the outer walls of the artists’ workspace ‘het vogelnest vzw’ (Nieuwevaart 118D – 9000 GHENT – Belgium) where an event will be held on May 19th with lectures and a screening of Exit Through the Gift Shop. Preview: Ericailcane – “Una Vita Violente” @ FIFTY24MX Gallery

Tomorrow night in Mexico City, Italian street specialist Ericailcane will be opening up a show alongside compatriot HitneS at the FIFTY24MX Gallery. This new body of work, Una Vita Violente, was inspired by writings of Pier Paolo Pasolini, and will metaphorically explore the human condition at its most brutal state through his signature animal characters rendered in his illustrative style. From the the looks of the preview images the show will include paintings, drawings, and sculptural work. More photos after the jump…

Streets: Ericailcane (Italy)

Fans of Ericailcane in his home country have again been blessed by another storybook mural – this time in Ravenna, Italy. The gifted street artist, known for his narrative and illustrative style, has painted this tale of seafaring mice in various stages of fright and distress who have run afoul with what looks to be a sea monster. More photos via Unurth after the jump…

Streets: Escif & Ericailcane (Valencia)

Serial collaborator Ericailcane has instead opted to trade his Italian neighbor Blu for Spanish street art crusader Escif. Ironically, Blu and Escif collaborated together in Valencia on an impressive tandem mural back in July for Arquitecturas Colectivas. Quite clearly, the three artists share a tight bond and mutual respect for one another. With Escif’s recent efforts at the FAME and Nuart festivals, it’s hard to deny he more than belongs in the same sentence as the other two outdoor icons. This piece from several months […]

Streets: Ericailcane (Rome)

Not to be outdone by fellow compatriot and frequent collaborator Blu, street illustrator Ericailcane also headed out on his own to work on some solo murals. This new wall in Rome was painted in the Laurentino 38 neighborhood, a downtrodden area that has seen some restoration projects in recent months commissioned by LabUrba. Hopefully, we’ll continue to see more from “Eric the Dog” throughout the rest of summer. Additional detail pics (by Jessica Stewart) after the jump, but also check out some in progress pics over at Drago.

Streets: Blu & Ericailcane (Italy)

Do these two Italian street magicians never stop? After making a pit stop at the FAME Festival and the R.I.P.Arte Festival, Blu and Ericailcane are at it again – this time with a collaboration piece.  This looks like they are taking aim at a popular target – politician, bankers, and corporate types.  The octopus looks to be by Ericailcane and the rest by Blu. See the full mural as well as some in-progress shots after the jump…

FAME Festival ’11: Ericailcane

As is often the case, where Blu goes, his compatriot Ericailcane goes. We only brought you the “billiard table” mural from Blu yesterday but actually they both visited Southern Italy together this year to get up for the FAME Festival. Here is the one of the walls Ericailcane hit up, definitely one of the sweetest pieces we have ever seen from him and his siganture illustrative style. Another view and another wall after the jump…

Streets: Blu & Ericailcane @ R.I.P.Arte Festival (Italy)

Reprising teamwork that has become familiar to street art fans everyone, Blu and Ericailcane hit up the R.I.P.Arte Festival in Fabriano, Italy recently with these two side-by-side pieces. The dynamic duo have been tearing up Europe recently at a frantic pace with their in-demand mural skills (last collab in Bologna), especially Blu (Palestra, Jensi, Krakaw, Poznań) whose prolific appetite for walls boggles the mind.  And, it seems there is no end in sight as he’s getting up in Germany at the moment. The event also […]

Streets: Blu & Ericailcane (Palestra)

Although we didn’t see any of his work in the Art in the Streets exhibition at the MOCA last week (probably related to the controversial buffing of his mural), most people still consider Blu one of the most important street artists at the moment. In fact, both him and fellow Italian artist Ericailcane (who recently collaborated on a mural in Bologna) are some of our favorites out there and they reaffirm our love for their work with this recent mural they are working on in […]

Streets: Blu & Ericailcane (Bologna)

No stranger to collaborations (see Nuart), not to mention both being automatic invites to any serious street art event, Blu and Ericailcane have teamed up for another piece – this time in Bologna. We should see more from these two Italian artists as the weather heats up and outdoor painting season starts again. Discuss Blu here. Discuss Ericailcane here.
