Currently, street muralist Ernest Zacharevic is in Malaysia prepping for his show, Art Is Rubbish Is Art, opening later this week (January 17th) at the Hin Company Bus Depot, a now disused building along Brick Kiln Road, in George Town, Penang. With our first Streets: World Roundup feature since Art Basel Week in Miami, it’s only appropriate to choose a mural from there as our headliner. It’s time again for another Streets World Roundup where we review some the public art that you may have missfed recently. Leading things off is this sweet new mural form Phlegm. Nuart ’13: Part VI – Group Exhibition

Along with the plethora of murals painted for this year’s Nuart Festival (see previous years), the artists involved also put together a group exhibition indoors as well. David Choe, C215, Martin Whatson, Hush, Ernest Zacharevic, Dal East, Faith47, Martha Cooper, Aiko and others all created works in their own recognizable style. This year’s Nuart Festival (see previous years) officially opened this weekend and we have a plethora of new street pieces to share with you. Part II sees us taking a look at the work of Ernest Zacharevic (seen above), Hush, and Strøk. If you remember, the Lithuanian Zacharevic was featured in our Art Focus article last year. This week, we would like to introduce you to the work of Ernest Zacharevic for our Art Focus feature. The Lithuanian artist has been recently putting up work in the streets of Penang, Malaysia that speak to his eye for placement.
