Last week, Unit London hosted the opening of a group show curated by the founder of Paintguide, Henrik Uldalen. Previews: “Paintguide” @ Unit London

On November 27th, a group exhibition organized by Henrik Uldalen, the founder of Paintguide on Instagram, will open at Unit London. One can say the Norwegian oil painter’s success has come in part because of social media, something that more and more collectors are using to find and purchase artwork. Releases: Esao Andrews / Contrast 15: Emotional Connection

Those interested in the gothic surreal imagery of Esao Andrews might want to get their hands on a copy of Contrast Magazine. The latest issue features a nice full color cover with one of the Los Angeles-based artist’s reoccurring images, various iterations of a ghostly ship. Inside the Hawaii-based publication you will find a nice spread of Andrews’ work along with a lengthy interview. Over the weekend, Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles opened the doors to The Gilded Age featuring new works by Aaron Horkey, Esao Andrews, and João Ruas. Roq La Rue upped the ante for the fifth edition of their Lush Life group show, titled Reverie.  With both the main floor and upstairs project room utilized, and the debut of the large installation piece by Cheyenne Randall, the gallery was literally packed to the rafters. Previews: “Vitality and Verve” @ Long Beach Museum of Art (Part I)

Yesterday, AM had the opportunity to stop by the Long Beach Museum of Art (LBMA) for what’s shaping up to be an epic exhibition. Put on in collaboration by Thinkspace Gallery, the people behind POW! WOW!, and LBMA, the main attraction of Vitality and Verve: Transforming the Urban Landscape are the on site installations and murals.
