Streets: World Roundup (Jan 9 – Jan 15)

Well, hope everyone survived Friday the 13th. If so, you are will be able to enjoy this week’s roundup of work on the streets. Leading the charge is a series of new murals in an abandoned tower by Sheffield-based artist Phlegm. You can see the rest of them here. Other worthy walls include Slinkachu (London), Escif (Spain), Hyuro (Spain), DAL (South Africa), Monsieur Qui (Paris), REVOK x REYES x STEEL, and BAST. All the photos after the jump…

Streets: Escif & Blu (Buenos Aires)

While his compadre, Italian street artist Blu was painting up Buenos Aires (here, here, and here), it looks like Escif tagged along (you may also remember their back to back efforts together in Spain here) to work on some walls of his own. His contribution to the Argentinian city-scape is an entertaining step-by-step rendition of how to open a locked door with a credit-card. *Correction* this is a collaboration piece with Blu. More photos after the jump from Buenos Aires Street Art.

Streets: Escif (France)

A while back, we gathered some photos of murals that Escif painted while in Niort, France, for the 1st edition of the Festival Le 4eme Mur (The 4th Wall).  Apparently there was one wall that we missed that could arguably be the most intriguing of the bunch from the Spanish street artist – a ghost motif that we have seen before from him, this time drifting slowly away from the body of of an animal as it dies… More photos after the jump…

Streets: World Roundup (Nov 7 – Nov 13)

This week’s round up of street work around the world starts with Ethos and this sweet new mural for the RUA Festival in Amsterdam. Other notable walls include ROA (Australia), Escif (Paris), Dikson (Russia), A1one (Iran), Isaac Cordal (Spain), Other & Saddo (Germany), and Cranio (Brazil). Check it all out after the jump…

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to all our readers. Anyone have any art-related costumes to share this year? For inspiration, you can check out some of our previous year’s Halloween articles here. Keep safe!

Streets: World Roundup Oct 17 – 23

It’s time for another roundup of the new walls this week here on AM. Although not exactly immediately recent, this mural from Mesa in particular caught our eye. Other murals covered after the jump include C215 (Paris), Escif (France), Sam3 (Germany), Dabs Myla x Remi/Rough (London), Fintan Magee (Melbourne), Teo Doro (Valparaíso), Dimitris Taxis (Spain), and Isaac Cordal (Brussels).

Streets: Escif for Festival “Le 4eme Mur” (France)

After working his magic in Norway with several murals for the Nuart Festival, it looks like the next destination for Spanish street dynamo Escif was France. He took some time to immerse himself in the city of Niort (“history, economical, old factory, architectures, silence of street without cars and ghost in a castel”) before working on some walls for the Festival “Le 4eme Mur” (The 4th Wall). More photos after the jump…

Streets: Escif & Ericailcane (Valencia)

Serial collaborator Ericailcane has instead opted to trade his Italian neighbor Blu for Spanish street art crusader Escif. Ironically, Blu and Escif collaborated together in Valencia on an impressive tandem mural back in July for Arquitecturas Colectivas. Quite clearly, the three artists share a tight bond and mutual respect for one another. With Escif’s recent efforts at the FAME and Nuart festivals, it’s hard to deny he more than belongs in the same sentence as the other two outdoor icons. This piece from several months [...]

Nuart Festival ’11: Escif

Held in Stavenger, Norway once a year, the Nuart Festival has kicked things off this past week as many of the featured artists have arrived. Our first look at the action is with Spanish artist Escif who is part of the lineup for 2011 that also includes Dan Witz, David Choe, Vhils, Herbert Baglione, Lucy McLauchlan, Dolk, Herakut, Tellas, Hyuro, Phlegm, and DVS 1.  You may remember that Escif was just in town for the ______ capitalism? event (covered), but this time spent more time outdoors and in working [...]

Fame Festival ’11: Escif

Escif recently made the stop in Grottaglie for some last minute additions as the Fame Festival opening will roll around in the next couple weeks (see other artists who have already have done their part here). In addition to this giant tiger, the Spanish street artist also worked on some walls with his signature characters as well as a text-based piece. More after the jump…
