Last weekend in Norway, the inaugural show at Reed Projects Gallery, The Rejects, opened featuring work from Vhils, Roa, Escif, Dolk, Evol, Dan Witz and Brad Downey. The new showspace is the brainchild of the same people behind the annual Nuart Festival in Stavenger and presumably will now become the indoor gallery of those artists involved. Take a look at more photos from the opening below… Photo credit: Erik Sæter Jørgensen.

Last week, German artist EVOL launched a show entitled Repeat Offender at Jonathan LeVine Gallery. The Berlin based artist’s intricate stencils are often layered on found mediums such as cardboard and metal to create mesmerizing cityscapes and unique urban compositions. In addition to these, we also caught a rare series of photographs depicting his 2009 project at the Caspar David Friedrich Stadt, an installation in a former slaughterhouse in Dresden, Germany. Check out a detailed look after the jump.
Earlier this month, the Buckwild Gallery brought 7th letter member EVOL and Fame City writer TEAL together for a special event highlighting their different styles and their own brand of art. Titled Femme Fatale, the event was filled with a collection of both prints and original works by EVOL, a group of paintings by TEAL, and special collaborations between the two which touched upon the female portrait as the core idea. EVOL’s style has a watercolor-like quality but it’s impressive to see what he can […]

Hitting up London ahead of his showing at Pictures On Walls on December 1st, German artist EVOL installed some his distinctive work at Smithfield Market. Featuring his uncanny ability to transform urban objects into tiny cityscapes, this latest street intervention will only fuel the fires of fans in the UK as EVOL and full supporting cast of artists take over POW with their upcoming show. More photos at Street Art London and after the jump…
Known for his ability to modify urban structures to resemble hyper-realistic miniature buildings, Berlin-based artist EVOL recently took his unique artform up a notch. As one of the participants of the art component of the MS Dockville Music Festival, what he had to work with was in his words “the endless meadow, trees and blue sky, not exactly what I play with usually.” What he decided to do next was pretty amazing. He “decided to cut open the idyll, and pretend there is no endless meadow, but […]
It’s about time for another update on this year’s Nuart Festival seeing as more and more artists are getting up and around town. Along with this tremendous piece from ROA seen above (probably his largest to date), EVOL, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, and M-City have also been sighted. Take a look at all the pics after the jump…
The cool thing about the “Annual Summer Invitational” at Jonathan LeVine Gallery is that we get to see some fresh faces that haven’t had an opportunity to grace the gallery walls before. As mentioned earlier, this year’s lineup looks promising with many faces familiar to AM readers taking stage with brand new works. Artists such as Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed), Tran Nguyen, Alex McLeod, Andrew Hem (interviewed), Becca Midwood, Evol, Judith Supine, Lola (featured), Morgan Slade, Marco Mazzoni, Nate Frizzell (featured), Oliver Warden and Oscar de las Flores […]
Summer is usually a time to relax for the art world, but the crew Jonathan LeVine Gallery is hard at work putting together their “Annual Summer Invitational” roster. The group show, which opens August 4th, will host a slew of artists new to the gallery such as Nicoletta Ceccoli, Tran Nguyen, Alex McLeod, Andrew Hem, Becca Midwood, Evol, Judith Supine, Lola, Morgan Slade, Marco Mazzoni, Nate Frizzell, Oliver Warden and Oscar de las Flores. Here’s a piece from AM favorite Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed) named “Tear Drop Pearls” […]
Washington, D.C. got hit with a taste of urban art this past weekend thanks to the Irvine Contemporary, who held a group show and street/studio experience that featured artists: Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Dalek, Gaia, Imminent Disaster, Oliver Vernon, EVOL and Pisa 73. AMÂ got to tag along as these urban artists got together to create a show that was not only inside the gallery, but also along the back walls and alleys of some prime D.C. real estate.
