One of the events that marked the official opening of this year’s Nuart Festival on the 8th of September was the opening of Jeff Gillette’s solo show at Nuart Gallery. For Dismayland Nord, the Detroit-based artist brought his iconic “dismayland” imagery to the idyllic city of Stavanger in Norway. Streets: Etam Cru x Robert Proch // UNIQA Art Lodz (Poland)

Recently in Lodz, Etam Cru and Robert Proch teamed up to paint an amazing new mural they entitled Enjoy The Silence. The wall was painted for UNIQA Art Lodz, a new urban art program curated by Michał Bieżyński (of Lodz Murals). Located in a high traffic area (Sienkiewicza 81), the piece naturally went to the two artists (Etam Cru) who got their start in the central Polish city as well as to Proch, one of the best muralists in Poland. Upcoming: Ron English – “Guernica” @ Allouche Gallery

On September 22nd, Allouche Gallery in New York will be opening a solo show from Ron English (featured) in their new Meatpacking District space. Three years in the making, the new body of work will be entitled Guernica, a fitting choice as he has painted his own pop-infused versions this masterpiece from Picasso over 50 times (including on the streets). Streets: Nychos // Mural Harbor (Austria)

Recently in Linz, Nychos painted one of his largest and most detailed murals to date for the Mural Harbor project. The Austrian street artist certainly gave his best effort for this piece in his motherland which was entitled Translucent Serpent – two huge snakes, one with its insides exposed. Utilizing a generous amount of Montana Gold “Lime”, Nychos was able to leave a great example of his anatomical style next to the train tracks. On September 17th, beinArt Gallery in Brunswick, Australia will be opening their Small Works 2016 group show. As the title of the exhibition suggest, the pieces in the show are meant to be affordable and all measure under 10″ x 10″. Recently in Drammen, Noway, artistic duo Telmo Miel painted a mural entitled Når jeg blir Stor or When I Grow Up for the UGANGprosjektet. Referencing the country’s viking roots, the piece was the second one the two painted on their trip (first one here). Last weekend, the latest artist to paint a mural at the iconic Bowery & Houston corner in New York finished his weeks of hard work. Logan Hick’s piece entitled Story Of My Life features a crowd of people he photographed on the corner of Spring and Greene Street and is a testament to his impressive skills working with stencils. Held in conjunction with The New Vanguard at MOAH was the latest iteration of the POW! WOW! series of street art festivals. POW! WOW! Streets: Patrick Shearn – “Liquid Shard” (Los Angeles)

Liquid Shard was an installation in downtown LA that was on view for two weeks created by Patrick Shearn of Poetic Kinetics. The undulating piece featuring suspended holographic mylar and monofilament arranged in a long ribbon-like canopy in Pershing Square and measured 15,000 square feet in length. Only few weeks before opening his second solo show with Mary Boone Gallery in New York, Tomoo Gokita gave us a peek inside his Tokyo studio.
