For his first gallery presentation on the East Coast in over five years, the Chinese-born artist is preparing a selection of works created with different techniques and mediums. We’ve been following the career of DAL for almost a full decade now and we’ve always had a weak […]

Showing: Mr Jago – ‘Rewild’ @ Unit London

Mr Jago’s third solo show at Unit London, entitled Rewild, draws to a close this weekend following a four week run at the Mayfair gallery. The exhibition’s title references the practice of reintroducing keystone species and replanting a landscape’s flora as a mechanism for restoring an ecosystem’s resilience and helping to address more globalized environmental problems. To be properly understood, the exhibition has to be read both as part of the lineal development of the Bristol-based artist’s practice and also within the much wider context of […]

Created over the course of 14 days, the newest mural from Tomokazu Matsuyama (interviewed) at the iconic Houston & Bowery location is perhaps the most detailed piece painted there to date. On November 2nd, Corey Helford Gallery will be opening another showing by Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed) with a new body of work entitled Relazioni Pericolose (translated to Dangerous Liaisons). Working with a style that draws from her background as an illustrator, the San Marino, Italy-based artist creates imagery that features characters and subject matter that appear innocent at first but on closer inspection quickly reveal darker themes. She further explains – “These new works embody many of the recurring themes and obsessions that inhabit my universe and reveal my ‘darker sides’. The fear of […]

Showing: Banksy – ‘Gross Domestic Product’ (Greater London)

Unless required for work or family reasons, many Londoners balk at the prospect of journeying to the other side of their city. Localism or laziness are often at play. So if you ever wish to check the status of your relationship with a Londoner, there’s a simple test we believe is about 50% reliable: In case that person is based in West London, suggest meeting up for drinks in East London (or vice versa). And if they live north of the River Thames, invite them […]
