Streets: Interesni Kazki (Slovakia)

Since July, we have already seen three huge murals from Interesni Kazki in Russia, Ibiza, and Portugal. The Ukranian duo continues their hot streak with this newest wall in Košice, Slovakia featuring some of their signature surreal imagery. Look for a gallery show from the two at the end of the month in Milan at the Avantgarden Gallery. More views after the jump…

Opening this Thursday, September 8th, at Chelsea’s Joshua Liner Gallery is East Weets Mest, the second full-gallery solo exhibition by Tomokazu Matsuyama (interviewed) Recently, we were lucky enough to have the chance to visit Matsu’s studio as he was finishing preparing for the show, and we were blown-away by what we saw. Matsu has been hard at work on an impressive collection for this show, including an amazing large-scale painting and two intricate sculptures. And from his description of the installation he’s planning, East Weets […]

Streets: Joe Sorren

It looks like gifted painter Joe Sorren’s (featured) has painted another wall in his home city (see the previous The Veridic Gardens of Effie Leroux), this time in collaboration with Lyle Motley. This wonderful new piece entitled Galápagos is located in Flagstaff at 209 Benton Avenue (La Famiglia Foto) is perhaps a warmup to his show coming up next month at Dorothy Circus in Italy.  We’ll have more on that soon, but for now, take a look at a more detailed shot of the mural after […]

Streets: “______ capitalism?” (Norway)

Artists have been hard at work the past week getting up in Norway for the ______ capitalism? event put on by the NHH Norwegian School of Economics in close collaboration with the Nuart Festival. If you remember back in July, Eine was the first to paint a piece for the project, but others like M-City, Escif, Dolk, and Hyuro have joined in the fun to challenge the leading business school’s ideological foundations directly on their walls. The unlikely pairing of the street artists with the school […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

After having a break from London, AM was very happy to return to a lot of fresh pieces. Phlegm has been painting the walls of The Foundry with his impressive comic book characters, Kid Acne has put up one of his excellent paste-ups which is especially nice, and it was also great to see that Mobstr had been out and about again with one of his thought provoking stencil messages. Also a great wall by artist David Shillinglaw who currently has a show at East […]

Fame Fest ‘ 11: NeSpoon

As the opening (Sept. 24th) of the Fame Festival draws nearer, the last few artists will be touching down to put their mark on the walls of Grottaglie. The most recent visitor was Polish artist NeSpoon and she stayed for 3 weeks, taking advantage of the unique history of the town and learning some new techniques from a local ceramics master. She spent her time in the streets using a variety of methods to get her message across including stencils, ceramic installs, and lace. The […]

Studio Visit: Korin Faught

This past weekend, AM had the privilege to visit Korin Faught’s studio as she prepares for the opening of her new solo show which will take place at the Corey Helford Gallery. Entitled Voices of the Lake, her latest artwork will focus on the theme of multiples as a way to explore issues of identity and self-reflection. Using photography and self portraits as a starting point for her artwork, Faught is able to give her paintings an aura of mystery and elusiveness. Equally important, her latest […]

Streets: REVOK, RIME, ROIDS, POSE, and OMENS (Chicago)

As you know, REVOK, RIME, and ROID recently opened a fantastic new show Perseverance at the Known Gallery in Los Angeles (covered). The three writers were actually in Detroit prior to the show working on the paintings and incubating ideas. Apparently, they also found time to make a pit stop in Chicago to paint this wall before heading to California. POSE (who collaborated on a couple pieces with Revok for the show) and OMENS also worked on this mural with the trio together. Closer looks […]

After prominent public interventions in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, you’ve probably got the memo that no place is too far to travel for the urban collective known as TrustoCorp. Similar to their hilarious NYC rebranding campaign, they’ve gone into magazine stands, bookstores and pharmacies throughout Hollywood, Manhattan, Williamsburg, LAX and JFK to drop copies of these little artistic interventions for the unsuspecting public. No details were spared […]
