Streets: Sam3 & Liqen Collab in Spain

We had just been introduced to Liqen and one of his collaborations recently and here we already see him creating another joint mural, this time with Spanish compatriot Sam3. This piece in Pontevedra, entitled Sirena II, has one of Liqen’s fanciful monochromatic white works taking a little swim with clusters of Sam3’s signature shadow people. See the whole mural and some detailed shots after the jump…

Barry McGee Mural on Houston & Bowery Completed

As quickly as it started just after midnight of Monday morning, it ended. Barry McGee (aka Twist) and his friend/assistant Josh Lazcano (aka Amaze) worked throughout the night into the wee hours of the morning (definitely outlasting AM into the am…) to complete an amazing mural that will hopefully last long enough for the people of New York to enjoy. We went back to the spot to enjoy the fruits of Barry & Josh’s Labor basking in daylight on the iconic corner of Houston & Bowery. […]

Streets: More Banksy

Looks like Banksy has updated his website with some of his recent work, confirming the Hastings and Glastonbury pieces we previously reported on. What’s even more interesting are some previously unseen stencils that are revealed as well as some clever pranks & installation pieces on video (more on that later). More after the jump…

Streets: Barry McGee (New York)

It looks like Barry McGee has begin his assault on New York by throwing up huge tags all over the mural space at the Houston and Bowery location we first told you about last week. Initially, this looks pretty similar to the wall he worked on in San Diego for the Viva La Revolucion show but we will be monitoring the site for any additional progress. More pics after the jump…

Streets: Banksy in Hastings?

A “Tesco Sand Castle” piece recently showed up that has strong possibilities as the newest Banksy piece in Hastings, a town on the coast of East Sussex in England. First off, the child shows some similarities to the postcard included with the limited edition “Exit Through The Gift Shop” DVD set. Second of all, some notables were in the area recently to celebrate Eine’s 40th birthday, so the timing seems to fit. Via the The Banksy Forum. Discuss Banksy here.

Streets: Shepard Fairey – New York City Recap (Part 2)

In second part of our Shepard Fairey NY street coverage (first part here), AM’s man on the street Joe Russo tours the concrete jungle with the Obey crew on a few stealthy late-night sessions. Under the cloak of darkness and working in virtual silence, it’s always interesting to see how the crew unwinds after brutal daylight campaigns of mural building at “legal” spots. Of course, these pieces are created in the most prominent locations and always done in good taste with consideration to other urban artworks. We also trekked […]
