Openings: “Wild At Heart” @ Thinkspace

A couple Saturdays ago, the Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City hosted the opening for Wild at Heart, a benefit show where some of the proceeds went towards Born Free USA. The group exhibition featured artists and their choice of endangered species to paint or work with leading to some great pieces being created. A young artist we have had our eye on for some time, Frank Gonzales, is getting ready for a solo in Santa Fe, New Mexico at Beals & Abbate Fine Art. The New York-based artist is currently working on the new body of work in preparation for the September including the piece seen above. We like his addition of fragmentation and abstract elements to his love for nature that gives classic imagery a refreshing new take. More detailed shots after the jump…
