Earlier this month, Last Rites Gallery in New York hosted “Lead Poisoning”, a group show that included a surprisingly strong list of participants. Artists like David Stoupakis, Eric White (interviewed), Glenn Barr, Ron English (featured), Chet Zar, Esao Andrews (interviewed), Chris Mars, Greg Simkins (interviewed), Robert Williams, Brian Despain (interviewed) and many others contributed drawings to exhibition. Pressure Printing continues their line of stellar releases with this new print, “Evening”, from Glenn Barr (who has a show currently showing in Dallas). You may remember first seeing the original at the Riverside Art Museum in our Baby Tattooville coverage for 2008. Glenn Barr’s show at The 4th Wall Gallery (previewed) opened last weekend in Dallas with a fantastic new body of work. Sprinkled among paintings of his signature vixens were serpent women, bird-girls and other hybrid creatures. To round out the show, he also had drawings, prints, and his “Happiness” bronze on display. Also exhibiting along with Barr were THH70 & Joey Seeman. Preview: Glenn Barr @ 323 East

Glenn Barr will be returning to Detroit for his first solo show there in seven years. The exhibition opening on October 28th at 323 East will include nearly a decade’s worth of original works, prints and published works (some new originals as well). He will also be releasing 35 limited edition, signed and numbered giclee prints sold exclusively for this show on opening night. On display will also be his fantastic bronze figure “Happiness” (seen above). Show card after the jump.
