Streets: Hula – “Maka’u” (Hawaii)

Continuing his series of works in hard to reach locations, Hula recently painted a mural on the edge of a waterfall entitled Maka’u. Dealing with issues of fear, as suggested by the title, on multiple levels, the piece saw the Oahu-raised artist otherwise known as Sean Yoro suspend himself on the edge of a waterway on surfboard as he took risks to paint an image of a person hanging on by a rope. With the second edition of POW! WOW! Long Beach successfully completed, it’s now time to review the murals painted for the event. POW! WOW! Long Beach ’16 / Streets: Update

The second edition of POW! WOW! Long Beach is underway with artists painting in the streets as well as inside the Long Beach Museum of Art for the upcoming Vitality & Verve: In The Third Dimension show (covered).
