Hailing from the streets of Newcastle, UK artist Hush (interviewed) opened his show “Hymn of Beauty” at Carmichael Gallery last night.  From a stunningly textured mural to the hand-finished touches that made certain paintings overlap onto the wall, the presentation was top-notch.  Although he maintained his anonymity for photos (above), Hush was more than happy to engage fans in conversation and to discuss his work.  We especially liked the poem he painted on one of the walls from Charles Baudelaire that was used as the […]

UK artist Hush’s latest solo show, “Hymn to beauty” (teased), kicks off on March 5th at Carmichael Gallery in LA. Hush has been a busy little artist since his last show in the UK (here). On March 5th, he’s going to “skip across the pond” and head straight to Hollywood for a solo at the Carmichael Gallery. Update: Hush

Hush recently posted some pictures of him working in his studio on a new painting called “Butterfly Girl thru Graf.” This piece will be showing at the Urban Angel group show “2” opening tomorrow. He will also be participating in the “12 Days of Xmas“ show coming up in Bristol this Friday (image of his piece for that as well as studio pics after the jump).

Openings: Hush @ Opus Gallery

Hush’s show Desensitized (previewed) opened up at Opus Gallery a couple nights ago. His return to Newcastle (where he studied Graphic Design & Illustrator at Newcastle school of Art & Design for 5 years) was marked by street installations and a exhibition of his characteristic melding of the asian influences of his travels with the style of UK street art.
