Upcoming: Todd “REAS” James – “Free To be You & Me” @ V1 Gallery

Opening Friday night (October 5th) in Copenhagen at the V1 Gallery, Free To be You & Me is the newest solo show from Todd James. The imagery in this new body work continues to be dominated by his colorful chain-smoking pirate characters, brandishing weapons and causing mischief. Ben Eine – “TO EXPRESS” Installation @ Onethirty3

The Onethirty3 project space in Newcastle ended their memorable two year run with a new installation from Ben Eine entitled TO EXPRESS. Artists who have made their mark at the location included Herakut, Paul Insect, Sickboy, Gaia, Titifreak (covered), INCH, Amy Dover, and Hush (covered) who organized the entire project. Openings: ROA – “Dominant Species” @ 941 Geary

Last Saturday, 941 Geary hosted the opening to ROA’s latest ambitious endeavor entitled, Dominant Species (previewed). This is the followup to his exhibition last year at the San Francisco gallery’s sister location, White Walls. On Thursday, Kaikai Kiki artist Mr. returned for a second showing with New York’s Lehmann Maupin Gallery. The former protégé of Takashi Murakami put forth a more serious body of work entitled Metamorphosis – Give Me Your Wings that was reflected in a dense installation that literally littered the space with common pop & household objects. This Saturday (September 15th), Belgian-born artist ROA makes his return to San Francisco (see 2011) for a new solo show at 941 Geary.
