Streets: Invader (Paris)

After filling the Jonathan LeVine booth (covered) with his tiled works during Basel Week Miami, Invader has returned to the streets in his home city of Paris recently with this new piece. Again taking elements of pop culture that interest him, the French street artist has created a mosaic featuring the Pink Panther. Photo credit: Un Oeil Qui Traine. Discuss Invader here.

Basel Week Miami ’12: Invader @ Jonathan LeVine / PULSE

As we wandered the halls of the PULSE art fair (highlights here) during Basel Week Miami, we came upon the booth of Jonathan LeVine solely featuring the work of Invader. After seeing his work up and about town, we now had a chance to see some of the French artist’s tiled creations up close. Also present was the balloon contraption that allowed him to get his signature character up in space earlier this year (covered). While in Florida, the street artist also hosted a screening for […]

Invader x Jason deCaires Taylor Collaboration

After invading space, finally living up to his full name, Space Invader has decided to explore another frontier – the underwater realm.  With an assist from Jason deCaires Taylor, whose underwater sculptural coral reefs and photography was featured in a recent show in New York, the French street tilist has affixed his classic imagery on the side of one of the reefs in Cancun adding another exotic locale notch to his belt of conquest. Streets: World Roundup (Sept 10 – Sept 16)

Headlining our Streets: World Roundup this week is a rare extraterrestrial piece from Invader. After a failed attempt last month, he has finally lived up to namesake and invaded space with his tiled works. Launching from Miami, Florida where he is preparing for his next exhibition, the French street artist was able to send his imagery into orbit with a helium balloon fitted with a camera to document it (and GPS to retrieve it). Other murals to admire on earth this week include work from Inti – […]

Streets: Invader (Hong Kong)

Invader recently brought his street invasion to Asia with this new piece in Hong Kong. According to his logs, the anonymous French artist has been to the city-state before and has mapped out some of the spots he has hit up, although this piece might be a legal one. In related news, the street tile specialist also made the front page of the Miami Herald and was also in the area recently based on the photographic evidence below. Miami photo via Qura Torial.
