Signings: James Jean – “Rebus” @ Nucleus Gallery

Continuing his whirlwind books signing tour, James Jean (featured) will be at the Nucleus Gallery this Saturday, January 14th (6-9pm) in Southern California. Spots he has already hit up that we had the chance to attend include Reed Space in NYC and the LACMA, where we walked away impressed with the beautiful reproduction of his paintings from the Rebus show at Martha Otero’s in the 240 page publication. Recap: James Jean – “Rebus” Signing @ Reed Space

After sitting in with James Jean (featured) and catching his motivational talk to students at Pratt, we attended the signing for his newly released Rebus book at Reed Space. As expected, the place was packed with fans eager to get some time with the artist. As previewed, the event also launched his latest Lotus War Pyramid print. Admirably, James left no man behind as he stayed past closing to make sure his fans all got his John Hancock and doodle. Check it out after the jump.

Releases: James Jean – “Lotus War Pyramid”

That Lotus War Pyramid print from James Jean (featured) that we told you about a couple weeks ago is now available online. For the New Yorkers out there, this new release was sold at Jean’s signing at Reed Space, but now fans everywhere can purchase one for themselves. The five-color, 26 x 30 inch limited edition is signed and numbered and will be produced with a run of 555. A couple more pics after the jump…

Art Platform ’11: First Look

Late Friday afternoon, AM stopped by the vernissage for Art Platform’s debut in Los Angeles. The new event, which looks to become the preeminent art fair in the LA area, is the sister fair to New York’s annual Armory Show.
