This past weekend, LACMA celebrated the release of the book, REBUS, by artist James Jean’s (featured). The event began with a discussion in which the LA-based artist went on to explain his background and career as an artist and Giant Robot founder Eric Nakamura (interviewed) was also on hand to expand on James’ work over the years as well as their shared histories. In case you missed the last batch of James Jean x OVM scarves, which sold out earlier this Spring, there may be hope for you yet. Tomorrow, the next design Escape will go on sale on the OVM site. Releases: James Jean – “Fungi III”

These usually don’t last long. James Jean (featured) has just released one of his sketches as a print here. The 9.5 x 12 inch limited edition is entitled Fungi III and is priced at $70 with a run of 100. Getting back to his roots, James worked on the cover for the all-comics newspaper (Issue #9) published by Desert Island. Using a unique four panel painting (previewed) contrasted nicely against a mural backdrop as the anchoring point in the booth, Martha Otero continued to supply fans of James Jean’s (featured) work more eye candy – this time at Art Hong Kong. 3D Art Book Signing @ Opera Gallery

AM recently attended a special signing party for the 3D Art Book (previewed) hosted at the Opera Gallery in New York.
