The site Secret Little Art Geeks (SLAGS), which has collaboratively produced limited edition T-shirts with such artists as John Baldessari, Curtis Kulig and Greg Lamarche, has just released a new shirt. Although cryptically listed on the site as being by “Anonymous,” the tee is in fact by the infamous French street artist Zevs (currently showing in New York), and features one of Zevs’ signature liquidated Chanel logos. Sprüth Magers – based out of Berlin and London – certainly brought back to the states work by some of America’s best artists. Their booth included a prominent sculpture by Sterling Ruby, a painting by artist-of-the-hour George Condo (whose paintings seemed to be everywhere at the fair this year), a photo by Cindy Sherman, a large text-based installation by Jenny Holzer, instantly-recognizable John Baldessari and Barbara Kruger pieces, and a painting by Jeff Koons. It looks like it’s time for another Supreme artist collaboration skate deck release. Fans will be happy to know that they are continuing their respected line featuring prominent artists with John Baldessari. Three different versions will be available starting October 7th for North America (both in-store and online) and on October 9th in Japan. Via Hypebeast.
Last weekend, the Hammer Museum at UCLA opened up a show entitled “Outside the Box” focusing on limited edition prints. The exhibition displays the recently acquired Edition Jacob Samuel archive of prints put out by the publisher which includes work by notables like Ed Ruscha, Anish Kapoor, Chirstopher Wool, Marina ABramovic, John Baldessari, and Barry McGee among many others.
