On October 22nd, Josh Keyes (interviewed) will be unveiling his latest series of work at New York’s Jonathan LeVine Gallery. In his second exhibition with the Chelsea showspace, Migration focuses on what would happen when the unnatural changes in the environment forces the climates to abandon their normal cyclical zones. This wild shifting causes the merging bio-habitats, thus changing the migratory patterns of animals with the ensuing chaos depicted in renowned Keyes fashion. Last Friday evening, Spoke Art Gallery hosted the opening of Sink or Swim (previewed), a benefit for the Japan-based grass roots organization PangeaSeed, whose goal is to raise international awareness on the plight of sharks. The show included literature, photos, artwork and members of PangeaSeed creating a dialogue as to why we must preserve and protect sharks and their habitat. Tomorrow night, September 23rd, marks the opening of the Sink or Swim benefit show for PangeaSeed, a grassroots organization based in Japan dedicated to educating and raising international awareness on the plight of sharks and the destruction of their habitat. After almost three years of tireless wishful thinking and outspoken groveling amongst diehard Josh Keyes collectors, Scorch I will finally see a print release this coming weekend. Originally exhibited at SCOPE NY in 2009, the painting, along with another now iconic work, really turned heads at the fair and marked a fairly sizable conceptual and technical leap forward, converting casual observers into permanent admirers of Josh’s work. As mentioned in our coverage of The Magician’s Garden in San Francisco last month, Josh Keyes (interviewed) will be releasing a print to coincide with the recent conclusion of the exhibition. Democratically chosen by collectors on his message board with overwhelming support, The Cerberus Project is now in the final stages of production, at a new printing house to correct some of the minor issues with the past couple, with release plans recently being unveiled. With his next exhibition, The Magician’s Garden (teased), right around the corner, Josh Keyes (interviewed) has taken some time out to once again teamed up with Tiny Showcase for their fifth collaborative effort to raise funds in the name of charity.
