Benefit: Street Art Awards x SHP Auction

Some interesting charity auctions are ending soon benefiting SHP (Single Homeless Project), a London-based charity working with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. If you recall, various street/urban artists donated some originals painted on records during the Street Art Awards last year, including Matt Small (above), Know Hope, SPQR, Grafter, Holly Thoburn, Rene Gagnon, Guy Denning, Case, and Dale Grimshaw.  More images after the jump.

Openings: Know Hope @ Ad Hoc Art

Know Hope’s show (previewed) at Ad Hoc Art opened last weekend in NY to a pretty good crowd.  As with most of his shows, the centerpiece was an installation, vividly bringing to life the imagery of his art.  His well-known grappling and intertwined characters were again the stars in this body of work that seemed to have a seafaring theme. Preview: Know Hope @ Ad Hoc Art

Fresh off his debut solo show at Anno Domini in October, Tel Aviv street artist Know Hope has another show coming up at Ad Hoc Art on January 16th entitled “The Insecurities of Time.” His characteristic collaged works will be on display – usually multimedia pieces including cardboard, watercolor, oil, paper and string. His body of work usually centers around an unnamed figure and the struggles and fragility of life. More images after the jump.

Gen Art Vanguard Art Fair Show @ Carmichael Gallery

On display through January 1st, the Carmichael Gallery has installed the body of work they exhibited at the recent Gen Art Vanguard New Contemporary Art Fair at Basel Week (Miami) (previewed).
