Openings: Kris Kuksi – “Triumph” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Last week, AM attended the much anticipated opening for Kris Kuksi’s latest body of work entitled Triumph. The solo exhibition held at New York’s Joshua Liner Gallery was his most impressive yet. Focusing on going big, Kris brought the heavy artillery as several mammoth works became the centerpieces of the night. Working on a scale that we were not accustomed to seeing, Mr. Kuski did two things that usually don’t go hand in hand – he increased the size while maintaining his meticulous standard and detailing […]

Preview: Kris Kuksi – “Pneumatic” @ Roq La Rue

Master mixed media cut chemist, Kris Kuski, is set to reveal a new body of work in Seattle tonight, the first since showing at Art Basel Miami (covered) last December. Opening at Roq La Rue, Pneumatic will exhibit the Kansas-based artist’s talents through his signature remixing of found objects and model components (thousands in most cases!) into his self-dubbed “post industrial rocco” sculptural assemblages. These insanely intricate works should juxtapose nicely against the soft, eerie collection of paintings from Travis Louie (featured), entitled The Creature […]
