Openings: Kukula – “Lonely Opulent Things” @ Corey Helford Gallery

Just last Saturday night, Kukula filled the ground floor of the Corey Helford Gallery with her newest paintings, influenced by her recent visit to the France and the rich and decadent life of the old aristocracy. In kind, her paintings are more elaborate, intricate, and detailed than in the past made even more impressive as some of the works were her largest to date. This Saturday night, Kukula returns for her second solo show at the Corey Helford Gallery after a sold-out affair in 2009. Entitled Lonely Opulent Things, this new body of work consists of 12 paintings, including her largest works to date.
