Showing: Belin, Jaz and Lek – “Main Street” @ Rouen

After a previous edition in the largest museum of contemporary art in North Africa, the Mohammed VI Museum in Rabat, Morocco, the exhibition Main Street is now touring to Rouen in France . Three international artists Belin, Franco Fasoli, Lek are creating monumental installations within the Hangar 107. Spanish artist Belin painted a reclining nude with his ‘post neo-cubism’  style, while French artist Lek applied his signature geometric shapes directly onto the glass windows, and Argentinean artist Jaz created a colourful poetic narrative. The exhibition is running until April 3rd. Showing: Lek & Sowat & Yves Marchand & Romain Meffre – “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work” @ Polka Galerie

Right after starting their residency at Villa Medici in Rome, Lek & Sowat teamed up with photographers Yves Marchand & Romain Meffre for a fresh new project that is currently showing at Polka Galerie in Paris. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work is a joint show that includes a unique series of works produced in collaboration between the two artistic duos. Rewind: Jun 7 – Jul 13

Headlining our Rewind feature this time is a short film documenting Adam Neate’s (interviewed) time in Beijing where he joined street calligraphers in Beihai Park. They all practice the art of DiShu, or water calligraphy where the ephemeral forms disappear as it evaporates. La Tour 13 (Paris)

Over looking the Seine, La Tour Paris 13‎ is a project curated by Mehdi Ben Cheikh from Galerie Itinerrance. During a year, the entire building was painted by 100 international street and graffiti artists, each leaving their mark with murals and installations within the 36 apartments over 9 floors and cellars. Opening to the public for a month from October 1st, the building is due to be demolished in November, making it the largest temporary street art exhibition in France. Mausolee: Lek x Sowat (Paris)

Imagine an abandoned four storey supermarket in the North of Paris occupied by squatters, then deserted again. On August 12, 2010, French graffiti artists Lek and Sowat discovered the place much to their delight. For a year, in the greatest of secrets, both artists continuously wandered in this 430,000 sq ft monument to paint murals and organize an illegal artistic residency.
