Openings: Thinkspace Gallery @ Affordable Art Fair (Los Angeles)

Over the weekend, the Affordable Art Fair opened Los Angeles including a booth for one of the galleries exhibiting work – Thinkspace Gallery. Preview: Linnea Strid – “As It Falls Over You” @ Thinkspace

Sweden-based painted Linnea Strid is getting set to unleash a new body of work for her show this Saturday, December 10th, at Thinkspace. The LA exhibition, entitled As It Falls Over You (a joint show with Nathan DeYoung), will showcase some of Strid’s signature hyperrealism and feature some of her favorite imagery – dripping wet faces and their interplay with water. Openings: “The New Realism” @ Thinkspace Art Gallery

Last Saturday night, the Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City opened a new show featuring some of their young artists, particularly those whose work involved elements of photo-realism. For “The New Realism”, Aaron Nagel, Jeff Ramirez, Jennifer Nehrbass, Linnea Strid, Nathan DeYoung and Pakayla Rae Biehn each put forth their vision of the human form but with their unique twists. Preview: “New Realism” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Thinkspace Gallery will be opening a new group exhibition this Saturday night, December 11th, highlighting some of their artists whose work utilize elements of  photorealism. “New Realism” will include pieces from Aaron Nagel, Jeff Ramirez, Jennifer Nehrbass, Linnea Strid, Nathan DeYoung and Pakayla Rae Biehn. Openings: “Love Conquers All” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Last Saturday night, AM stopped by the “Love Conquers All” show in Culver City at the Thinkspace Gallery. The exhibition’s concept was based on the struggle of the gay community for equality with part of the proceeds were donated to Equality California. Things don’t always turn out well for themed group shows, but this time, many of the artists were able to maintain their signature imagery yet at the same time subtly produce relevant works.
