Preview: “BLAB WORLD 2012” @ Copro Gallery

Openings: Steven Harrington – “Insideout” @ Known Gallery

Currently showing at the Known Gallery in Los Angeles through this weekend are the works of Steven Harrington. Insideout is the first exhibition held in his hometown of Los Angeles since 2009 from the artist and designer, also known for co-founding both the design agency National Forest and pop-art brand You&I. Openings: Shepard Fairey – “Americana” @ Perry Rubenstein Gallery

Over the weekend, the debut show at Perry Rubenstein’s newly opened Los Angeles gallery featured new works from Shepard Fairey. Entitled Americana, the exhibition showcased eleven new works, each one inspired by the songs, such as Oh Susannah, This Land Is Your Land and Clementine from Neil Young’s new album Crazy Horse. “Fairey says he listened to the music and lyrics to come up with concepts for visual representations of the songs. Openings: Vonn Sumner – “This Makes Sense” @ Merry Karnowsky

Last week, the Merry Karnowsky Gallery also presented work from Vonn Sumner, who was showing alongside Nicola Verlato (covered). Nicola Verlato – “Zero Gravity” @ Merry Karnowsky

Over the weekend, the Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles welcomed local artist Nicola Verlato and his new paintings into their showspace with an opening reception. The new works collectively entitled Zero Gravity are beautiful executed with his characters and objects suspended in midair as if frozen in time. Signings: Futura x Hennessy @ Mel & Rose

Prior to the massive launch party for the new Futura designed Hennessy bottle in Los Angeles, the graffiti legend held a special signing for his fans. Hosted by fine liquor retailers Mel & Rose, the event featured a meet and greet for collectors as well as associated Futura imagery. The bottle is only limited to 200,000 worldwide so snap up yours before they are gone.
