Teaser: Laurie Lipton – “L.A. Sous-Real” @ Ace Gallery (Los Angeles)

Coming up next month, Laurie Lipton (interviewed) will be opening her latest solo L.A. Sous-Real at the Ace Gallery in Los Angeles. Featuring her amazing skills with graphite and charcoal, the gifted artist will be putting on display a series of work featuring her signature surreal and hyper-detailed imagery, often executed with witty and biting commentary (LA is ripe for the taking don’t you think?). Preview: Sarah Joncas – “Between Wind and Water” @ Thinkspace

Coming up in a couple weeks, the Thinkspace Gallery will be hosting Between Wind and Water, a joint show between  Sarah Joncas (interviewed) & Caia Coopman. The Toronto-based painter will be presenting 18 new pieces, including the one seen above featuring her female portraiture. Openings: Naoto Hattori – “Mind Project” @ Copro Gallery

A couple weeks ago, Japanese artist Naoto Hattori opened a show at the Copro Gallery in Santa Monica alongside Matt Dangler’s solo (covered). Not only did Mind Project bring a selection of the psychedelic and surreal paintings that fans have come to expect from Hattori, it also marked a rare appearance from him at the opening reception.
