Last year, Wynwood Walls started out as an ambitious project to revive and reclaim the worndown Wynwood Arts District with art. Basel Week Miami ’10: Michael Kohn Gallery

One of the notable booths from this year’s Art Basel was Los Angeles’ Michael Kohn Gallery. Some of our favorite artists like Camille Rose Garcia (interviewed), Ed Ruscha and Ryan McGinness were among the varied mix of talent represented. Basel Week ’10 Pulse Miami First Look

Thursday morning, AM attended the private preview brunch at Pulse Miami, and with cappuccino and croissant in hand, got a first look at the fair’s impressive selection. The energy was high as eager collectors of emerging and established art filled the venue, and it wasn’t long until red dots began popping up beside snatched-up works throughout the show. Basel Week Miami ’10: Sanrio’s “Small Gift Miami” 50th Anniversary Celebration

With the pleasure of attending the event together with Shepard Fairey and his family, AM headed over to the opening of Small Gift Miami (previewed) for a bit of cross-generational fun during the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Sanrio.
