Last weekend in Santa Monica, Juxtapoz celebrated 18 years of sharing art with the masses with a group exhibition at the Copro Gallery. Featuring work from a plethora of creatives that have graced their pages and website through the years – from emerging artists to established giants including Robert Williams, Todd Schorr, Mark Ryden, Camille Rose Garcia, and more. This Saturday night, March 24th, the Copro Gallery in Santa Monica will play host to a group exhibition celebrating 18 years of Juxtapoz goodness.  An excellent lineup of artists have submitted work to pay their respects to the counter-culture magazine that has revolutionized the art scene including Marion Peck, Mark Ryden, Andrew Schoultz, Souther Salazar, Anthony Ausgang, Tiffany Bozic, Candice Tripp, SHAG and many more. Amory Week ’12: Richard Heller Gallery

As you must have realized from the article on our studio visit with Aakash Nihalani that we published yesterday, Armory Week is just around the corner. Releases / Benefits: Marion Peck – “The Salmon Spirit” Print

Earlier today, Marion Peck released a new limited edition print through Porterhouse Fine Art entitled The Salmon Spirit. This signed and numbered offering will be in an edition size of 100,  19″ x 20″, and priced at $300, with all proceeds going towards benefiting the Nature Conservancy. After hosting the first part of their 25th anniversary group show last month, La Luz De Jesus makes room for the opening of round two of the festivities on November 4th. A couple weeks ago, Marion Peck along with husband Mark Ryden hosted a book signing for Peck’s first fine art monograph, Animal Love Summer, at Sloan Fine Art in New York. The “Pop Surrealism“ museum show AM recently previewed is now showing at the Carandente Museum in Spoleto, Italy. Put together by Rome’s Dorothy Circus Gallery, with assistance from New York’s Jonathan Levine Gallery, the exhibition brings together 45 artists from the new contemporary scene, including Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, Tara MacPherson, Jeff Soto, Travis Louie and a wonderful piece from Joe Sorren. Rome’s Dorothy Circus Gallery and New York’s Jonathan Levine Gallery have joined forces to bring together some of the biggest names in the new contemporary scene for a museum exhibition in Italy entitled “Pop Surrealism”.
