Studio Visits: Mars-1

Earlier this week, AM had the pleasure of visiting the San Francisco studio of artist Mars-1 as he was putting the finishing touches on his latest pieces, debuting this weekend (teased).  The new body of work features a few of Mario’s newer (stylistically speaking) black and white pieces, as well as a massive canvas showcasing his signature transcendental style. Teaser: Mars-1 – “Infinite Tapestry” @ Meta Gallery

Mario Martinez aka Mars-1, whom we last saw at his Billy Shire show last May, will be opening up a new show at the Meta Gallery in Toronto next Friday, April 2nd. It looks as though he may continuing to explore more muted works with black backgrounds like the piece we saw at Josh Liners’ Further group show a while back.
