Upcoming: Hush – “Muse” @ Metro Gallery (Melbourne)

With the opening reception set for May 28th, fans of Hush’s (interviewed) work will be able to enjoy his East meets West aesthetic again in Melbourne at the Metro Gallery. Previews: Mark Whalen – “Peculiarities” @ Melbourne Art Fair

On August 13th, blackartprojects will be showing new work from Mark Whalen (aka Kill Pixie) at the Melbourne Art Fair. Peculiarities will see the Australian born, Los Angeles based artist continue his explorations of isolated geometric environments where his strange characters dance, contort, and interact in unusual ways, often beautiful and grotesque at the same time. On November 17th, the Metro Gallery in Melbourne will be hosting a new show from Michael Peck entitled Love & Fear. The fresh batch of paintings were developed during a three-month residency at Birrarung House where he was inspired by the desolate surroundings. As in past works, Peck re-imagines children in the role of adults – this time as hunters, trappers, and outdoorsman. Previews: APAK – “Stardust Dreams” @ Outré Gallery

On Friday (September 13th), the Melbourne and Sydney locations of Outré Gallery will be hosting new works from APAK. Stardust Dreams is the name of the twin showcase from the artistic duo and will feature luminous paintings of their whimsical creatures and their friends in a cosmic setting. Openings: Herakut – “Too High To Heal” @ Metro Gallery

Earlier this month, we shared some photos with you of the latest installation of The Giant Storybook Project from Herakut on the streets of Melbourne. The German duo were also in town for their latest solo show at the Metro Gallery entitled Too High To Heal featuring their signature mix of abstract and photorealistic painting. Upcoming: Kozyndan @ Outre Gallery (Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney)

Returning to Australia for another series of solos (like in 2011) in Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, Kozyndan will be showing at the different locations of Outre Gallery on March 8th, March 15th, and March 22nd respectively (RSVP here).
