Following up on their show in 2014 (covered), the Miaz Brothers recently opened up their solo with Lazarides at their new Mayfair home, Lazinc Sackville. Entitled Anonymous, the 16 paintings on display are a continuation of the Italian duo’s Antimatter series, comprised of the out of focus portraits (and one sculpture) that they have become famous for. Basel Week Miami ’16 / Openings: Fabien Castanier Gallery Popup Exhibition

The Bogota and Los Angeles-based Fabien Castanier Gallery used Basel Week Miami as an opportunity to show their roster of urban artists to the art-thirsty crowd in Wynwood with a popup exhibition. Displayed in two large spaces in the vibrant neighborhood, the exhibition also served as a teaser of what they will are planning for their upcoming Miami gallery location scheduled to open next year. CONTEXT Art Miami was another popular satellite fair for this year’s Basel Week Miami. Paired up with Art Miami, these two events gathered huge crowds over the course of several days. Fabien Castanier Gallery recently marked the grand opening of the gallery’s second location in Bogotá, Colombia, with a solo exhibition by the Miaz Brothers. Timeless is an extension of the artists’ Antimatter Series which features a series of new pieces showcasing the artists’ unique form of portraiture. Releases: Miaz Brothers – “Lady T” & “Old Master #11” @ Lazarides Editions

After a successful show with the Lazarides Rathbone in May this year (covered), the Miaz Brothers are set to release two limited edition prints with Lazarides Editions. Based on the pieces shown at the Dematerialized: A New Contemporary Vision show, Lady T and Old Master #11 were recently recently produced and signed by the Italian artists. Openings: Miaz Brothers – “Dematerialized: A New Contemporary Vision” @ Lazarides

Italian contemporary painters Miaz Brothers recently debuted their soldout UK solo exhibition at Lazarides Rathbone titled Dematerialized: A New Contemporary Vision. The show features a selection of large portrait paintings from their Antimatter series, utilizing the layering of spraypaint to create a special blurry effect. Upon close look, the paintings look abstract, but from a distance, portraits are revealed. A selection of sculptures are also on display. The show runs until June 15th. Photo credit: Butterfly.

Previews: Lazarides Rathbone @ Art 14 (London)

Art14 London is set to open later this week and Lazarides Rathbone will be on hand to show their stable of artists in the second edition of the art fair. Included will be brand new works from Conor Harrington (with the exquisite piece seen above), Todd James, Miaz Brothers, Brett Amory, and JR.
