Last weekend in Los Angeles, alongside Robert Williams’ amazing new exhibition (covered), a group show celebrating 20 years of Juxtapoz also opened to the public. Curated by Andrew Hosner from Thinkspace and Gary Pressman from Copro Gallery, the showing featured artists, emerging and established, who have graced the pages of the trailblazing magazine. Last year, entry level collectors were pleased to see Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles put on an Art Collector Starter Kit group show (covered) featuring some artists from their roster. The time had come for another Streets World Roundup here on AM. Leading things off is a complex new work of art from Felice Varini in Hasselt, Belgium for the “De Unie Hasselt-Genk” exhibition. The spiral-like piece which plays with perspective was painted on the roofs and facades of 99 buildings and can only be properly seen from one vantage point. Take a look at more here. Leading female street artists Miss Van and Olek recently opened their two-person show at StolenSpace Gallery in London (previewed here). Based on their strong friendship and artistic sisterhood, both show their mutual appreciation for each other work . Miss Van’s new body of work titled Glamorous Darkness features her signature ‘poupées’ (dolls) in a series of dreamlike landscapes and colours. Adorned with masquerade, animal-like masks, her sensual and erotic female characters evolve and interact with each other. Following up on some of the walls in-progress that we showed you last week for the Women on the Walls in Miami for Art Basel Week, we now have photos of some of the completed murals and work.
