Streets: World Roundup (July 2017)

With the beginning of August upon us, It’s time to take a look back at some murals that caught our eye last month in this edition of Streets World Roundup, mostly painted in July. First up is this amazing makeover of a 19th century castle in the Loire Valley of central France by Okuda featuring his colorful and prismatic style (photo edited from ChopemDown Films). Entitled Skull in the Mirror, this project (part of the recent Label Valette Festival) by the Spanish artist is not the first time […]

Streets: Bezt (Etam Cru) x Natalia Rak // RAD Napa Project

Bezt from Etam Cru and Natalia Rak recently combined forces to kick off the RAD Napa project (curated by Thinkspace) by creating a new mural entitled Knocking On Heaven’s Door. The Polish artists soldiered through moments of pouring rain in California’s Napa Valley over the course of 12 days to paint their first collaborative wall together. The ongoing multi-year program will see more artists joining in to beautify 1.7 miles of the rail and bike corridor which will become the first art district in the Napa Valley. Streets: World Roundup (May 1 – May 20)

It’s been few months without our Streets World Roundup feature, but it seems like the season for street art festival has arrived, so the only way to cover some of it is to do a group report on some of the most important murals worldwide. Tahiti once again hosted the ONO’U festival and this year’s lineup included such names as DALeast, Faith47, Seth Globepainter (who teamed up with local artist HTJ), ROA, Dabs Myla, and Pose. The south hemisphere street art scene was active once again in Dunedin […]

Streets: Bezt x Natalia Rak (Caserta)

While Sainer was taking a studio break by painting a large mural in Lisbon (covered), the other half of Etam Cru, Bezt was invited to Caserta, Italy for the Memorie Urbane Festival where he was joined by his fiancee Natalia Rak. As you can see, this art couple collaborated on a diptych mural painted on the opposite sides of the same five story building. Titled Romeo & Julia, the mural consists of their portraits facing each other around the building. Bezt painted Natalia and the other way around, utilizing similar […]

POW! WOW! ’15 / Streets: Natalia Rak

Working on one of the larger walls for this year’s event, Natalia Rak managed to be among the first ones to sign her piece. After three solid days on the cherry picker, the Polish artist rounded up this dreamy piece featuring a female character embraced by an albino tiger. Famous for her play with colors and using over saturated tones, this piece was created using different shades of purple and similar colors. Juxtaposing the sharp outlines of the female characters against the almost over exposed fur of […]

For our latest edition of Streets World Roundup, our featured mural is from Geoff McFetridge for the new Warby Parker store in Venice. The illustrator, designer, and artist has worked with the eyewear line before, but this latest project which graces the facade of their location on Abbott Kinney is the most striking collaboratioin yet, taking advantage of the architectural elements of the surface brilliantly. Take a look at the inside of the store here and head over for a look yourself when you are […]

Recap / Streets: No Limit Boras Festival

The Swedish city of Boras recently hosted a street art event between the 4th and 7th of September. Inviting some recognizable names from the street art world, the organizers of the No Limit Boras Festival were aiming to turn the city’s public space into an outdoor exhibition. Following the worldwide trend of inviting street artists to beautify dull urban facades, this event in a way opposes the strict “zero tolerance” policy that’s in effect all around the country. We recently received these photos of the finished murals by Kobra from Brazil […]
