Releases: Nick Walker – “Painting the Town Red” Print

Working with Prints on Wood, Nick Walker (interviewed) will have a new print on sale tomorrow, April 3rd (1 pm PST), entitled Painting the Town Red / Hong Kong Street Scene Two. Inspired by his associated trips to Hong Kong, the UK-based artist has placed his signature Vandal character smack dab in some iconic HK urban architecture. Produced in an edition of 25, and sized nicely at 30 x 40 inches, it will cost $1000 to add this to your collection. Discuss Nick Walker here.

Showing: Nick Walker – ‘Vicious Beauty’ @ Galerie Brugier-Rigail

UK artist Nick Walker (interviewed) is currently showing a new body of work entitled Vicious Beauty at Galerie Brugier-Rigail in Paris. Running until April 4th, the British artist’s  first solo exhibition in the French capital features his signature Vandal character and little girls with balaclava in various situations as well as hints of new directions he will be further exploring. Upcoming: Nick Walker – “Vicious Beauty” @ Galerie Brugier-Rigail

Set to land in Paris on March 19th, Nick Walker (interviewed) will be opening a solo show entitled Vicious Beauty at Galerie Brugier-Rigail. Street art fans in the City of Light are certainly no strangers to the work of the Bristol-based artist as the capital city is only a short trip across the Channel, making it easily accessible for the Vandal (examples here & here). Likewise, Walker’s famous character will be making an appearance indoors for the exhibition and no doubt outdoors in the wild as well. Discuss Nick Walker here.

Openings / Setup: CUT IT OUT! @ Urban Nation

A couple weekends ago, Urban Nation continued their ongoing arts program in Berlin with a new show curated by Henrik Haven & Olly Walker entitled CUT IT OUT!. Focusing on the artistic merit of the stencil, the group exhibition brought together some well known street artists skilled with the technique. Last month, UK-based artist Nick Walker metaphorically set his name on fire with his solo exhibition in New York City. Last week, British artist Nick Walker (interviewed) unveiled a show in New York City. Entitled All I Ever Wanted Was My Name On Fire, this pop up located at 345 Broome Street was definitely a show that burns brightly. After traveling to Japan, UK-based artist Nick Walker (interviewed) returned to New York City for a residency that will lead him up to a showing in the Big Apple (more on that soon). The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt (New York)

Kicking off yesterday, the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt features egg sculptures customized by 260 artists, designers, photographers, architects and other creatives, some seen regularly here on AM. This event is a followup to the successful hunts held in London in 2012 and Dublin in 2013.
