Openings: “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” @ Copro Gallery

A couple weeks ago, the 20th anniversary of cult hit television show Twin Peaks was celebrated with a group exhibition at the Copro Gallery entitled Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Preview: “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” @ Copro Gallery

As a followup to a similarly themed show last year, the Copro Gallery will be hosting Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me next Saturday, April 21st. Besides artwork depicting the dark side of the iconic television series, the event will also feature unreleased music from the series, David Lynch coffee and donuts, and a video installation of the Red Room as well as many other surprises and surprise guests. Showing: Nicoletta Ceccoli – “Girls Don’t Cry” @ Roq La Rue

While in Seattle, we stopped by the Roq La Rue Gallery to check out the newest solo show from Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed). Girls Don’t Cry continues the San Marino-based artist’s series of paintings featuring young girls in precarious fairy-tale like situations, all rendered beautifully in her soft palette and touch. Preview: Nicoletta Ceccoli – “Girls Don’t Cry” @ Roq La Rue

After a showing near her home country of San Marino at the end of 2010 (covered), gifted artist and illustrator Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed) will be putting her works on display in a more distant land – Seattle, Washington – come next Saturday, January 14th. Girls Don’t Cry at the Roq La Rue Gallery has the painter returning for her first showing there since 2009 and will feature delicate renderings of her girls of tainted innocence. Openings: “Summer Invitational” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Summer is coming down the home stretch and people are getting ready to take their last vacations before fall. This also means that it was time for Jonathan LeVine Gallery to hold its annual Summer Invitational group show (previewed). Mr. Levine took time to exhibit a select batch of artists including Daniel Martin Diaz, Eric Fortune, Hello Monsters, Edwin Ushiro, Dick Chicken, Melissa Haslam, Above, Nicoletta Ceccoli, Yuko Shimizu, Jennifer Delilah and Meryl Smith on the gallery walls. Preview: “The Blab! Show” @ Roq La Rue

Featuring a stellar lineup of artists, the Roq La Rue gallery will be hosting the reoccurring The Blab! Show with Krampus being the theme this time. Familiar regulars such as Nicoletta Ceccoli, Travis Louie, Martin Wittfooth, Ana Bagayan, Brian Despain, Dan May, Shag, Andy Kehoe, and some other talent new to AM will be painting their versions of the mythical creature. Preview: Nicoletta Ceccoli – “Incubi Celesti”@ Dorothy Circus

As we mentioned in out teaser last week, Dorothy Circus will be hosting a new body of work from Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed) on October 29th. The show entitled “Incubi Celesti” or “Heavenly Nightmares” is a fitting name for these new paintings. Although there is always something delicate and beautiful about Nicoletta’s work, each of these new pieces has some darker aspects to them when you look closer. Teaser: Nicoletta Ceccoli – “Incubi Celesti” @ Dorothy Circus

One of our favorite artists, Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed), will be opening up a new solo show at the end of this month in Italy. The San Marino-based artist will be bringing a new body of work to nearby Rome to the Dorothy Circus Gallery and from the look of things, her imagery seems to be taking a darker turn.
