Streets: Nychos // Mural Harbor (Austria)

Recently in Linz, Nychos painted one of his largest and most detailed murals to date for the Mural Harbor project. The Austrian street artist certainly gave his best effort for this piece in his motherland which was entitled Translucent Serpent – two huge snakes, one with its insides exposed. Utilizing a generous amount of Montana Gold “Lime”, Nychos was able to leave a great example of his anatomical style next to the train tracks. Basel Week Miami ’15 / Streets: Nychos

Another artist that left their mark on the streets during Basel Week Miami last year was anatomical enthusiast Nychos. The Austrian artist celebrated his birthday during the week of art festivities by leaving this burner behind in Wynwood Cafe entitled Strike Eagle, finishing despite being stopped by the police for a few days. The mural featuring his translucent spray technique was organized by INOPERABLE with support from Montana Cans. Photo credit: Brave Antics, Gully Art, and Diana Larrea. Openings: Nychos – “Translucent Fear” @ Kolly Gallery

A couple weeks ago, Translucent Fear, a new solo show from Nychos, opened at the Kolly Gallery in Zurich. The title of the exhibition references a new technique the Austrian artist has developed to continue his anatomical renderings by adding a layer of translucent skin to his subjects. Applied to both portraits as well as fierce creatures in combat, the x-ray vision of prolific street artist was in full effect in this new body of work. Discuss Nychos here.
