Basel Week Miami ’14 / Streets: Nychos

Nychos was another street artist that made his mark during this year’s Basel Week Miami with multiple murals. This particular project on the facade of the Miami Ad School in the Wynwood features two flamingos in the Austrian artists’ s usual dissected style, a welcome addition to the neighborhood with this long necked species being one of the most recognizable in the state. Project M/6 (Berlin) – Part II

Last week, we brought you a look at some artists prepping for their window installations for the M/6 phase (curated by Jonathan LeVine) of the ongoing art program for Urban Nation. We now have some in situ pics of the pieces for you to enjoy. Along with the windows from Dan Witz, Jeff Soto, Nychos, Olek and Saner, artists Alo, ONUR & WES21 and CANVAZ were seen putting up their work in Berlin. Setup: Project M/6 (Berlin) – Part I

Urban Nation recently kicked off the next phase of their ongoing art program with a new roster of artists curated by Jonathan LeVine Gallery. One aspect of the event features artists who create window installations in Berlin and the ones invited this time did just that. Take a look at some in progress photos as Dan Witz, Jeff Soto, Nychos, Olek and Saner created their 10′ x 10′ pieces destined for the windows of the building as well as works for the group show. Streets: Nychos (Hamburg)

Street muralist Nychos recently completed a striking new piece in Hamburg for the Knotenpunkt 14 urban art festival, organized and curated by Affenfaust Gallery. Dissecting a black widow in his usual style, the Austrian artist kicked off the event by getting up on the wall of a four-story building in the Gängeviertel. Streets: Nychos @ Livin’ Streets Festival (Austria)

Austrian street artist Nychos recently painted a new mural for the Livin’ Streets Festival (curated by INOPERAbLE) in his hometown of Graz. Bringing Puff, the Magic Dragon to life on the side of a tall building, The Weird crew member made sure to add his dissected touch to the beast. Other artists who were invited include Jaz, Ever, Evoca1, Axel Void, Frau Isa, Stinkfish, Livil, David Leitner, Street Art Communication, Searok, Costwo, and Alexis Diaz. Nychos For Volvo Art Session

Volvo Art Session is live art project taking place in Zurich’s main railway station that finds “selected Swiss and international artists applying their creativity to a Volvo car” The organizers of the event invited Nychos as one of the artists for their fourth year of the event. Openings: Nychos – “Street Anatomy” @ Fifty24SF

After painting several murals in the Bay Area (SF & Oakland), world traveller and muralist Nychos also opened a solo show at Fifty24SF last month. The exhibition entitled Street Anatomy featured works on canvas and paper highlighting the Austrian street artist’s distinctive cartoony dissections including a series of renderings of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
